AutoInc Singapore Karting Championship (Round 5) 19-20 November 2011
Jon Clinches SKC Cadet Championship back to back
In Qualifying, Jon managed to secure pole with a best time that’s almost 0.3sec faster than the closest competitor. Jon’s younger brother, Josh, who has been training hard, found good pace to qualify in a respectable third.
The Pre-Final was raced on a beautiful and sunny morning on Sunday. Everything went according to plan for the Team and when Jon crossed the chequered flag, he punched his hand in delight knowing he has bagged the championship and collected the maximum 20 points.
Jon wrapped up the SKC 2011 with four wins, one podium, three Porsche design sunglasses (which was added to the winning prize from round 3 onwards) and overall championship title. This result is an improvement from 2010 and a remarkable achievement for Jon.
On the other hand, Josh, as one of the two youngest karters in the cadet and who only started racing this year, secured three podiums and an overall third position title – an equally remarkable achievement.
“I’m very happy to clinch the cadet championship for two consecutive years. I’m looking forward to moving up the junior category next year. I will train hard and do my best to achieve as many podiums as possible but I will not set my expectations too high. For sure, I will be racing in SKC 2012,” said Jon.
